Hilary Duff vs. Faye Dunaway

It's old Hollywood vs. new Hollywood as actress Hilary Duff takes on screen legend Faye Dunaway.

"I might be mad if I looked like that now too," laughed Duff.

The war of words started when Dunaway learned that the teen star would be reprising her own epic portrayal of Bonnie Parker in a remake of the 1967 classic Bonnie & Clyde.

Dunaway quipped, ''Couldn't they at least cast a real actress?''

The young actress countered, "I think it was a little unnecessary." In an interview with the E! Network's Daily Ten, Duff didn't miss a beat, defending herself from Dunaway's diss. "I think that my fans who are going to see the movie don't even know who she is," she says.

Backstreet Boy Back from the Brink

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter says he almost partied himself to death.

Showing off his new physique for the latest issue of People magazine, Carter says his abuse of alcohol and drugs nearly killed him. The headline says it all..."I Don't Want to Die."

People Editor Galina Espinoza says, "Nick Carter was abusing drugs and alcohol so seriously that it actually lead to a build up of toxins in his heart and his doctor said that unless he had gotten clean he could have died."

During the height of his fame as a pop star Carter admits he drank ½ a bottle of liquor a night, chasing it down with cocaine.

In 2005, the former teen heartthrob was arrested for DUI. And, at one point Carter's weight ballooned to 224 pounds on a diet of chicken wings and pizza.

Today, the Backstreet Boy has lost almost 60 pounds, trading in his junk food diet for egg white omelettes and lots of veggies.

Espinoza says though Carter never wanted to take his shirt off onstage before, he has no hesitation now.

Roll Out the Pink Carpet

Steve Martin pulled up to the New York premiere of Pink Panther 2 driving the same pink Smart Car Inspector Clouseau drives in the movie, and he could hardly wait to talk to INSIDE EDITION!

Temperatures dipped down into the low 20s at New York's Ziegfield Theater, but the LA-based Martin says he doesn't mind the freezing weather. He joked, "I like winter, because it's miserable and white, because it reminds me of myself."
