Como is a dog with such a sweet face it's hard to believe he could ever be the dog from hell.
    
"I thought, 'This dog is a maniac,' " says Steven Winn about Cosmo.  Como is a terrier mix that Winn and his family adopted from a San Francisco shelter.

Winn says Como was always acting up, just like the Golden Labrador in the film Marley and Me.

After Como flunked obedience school, Winn figured out some simple tricks to tame his mischievous mutt.  He writes about them in Come Back, Como: Winning the Heart of a Reluctant Dog.

One tip Winn has is to hang out with your dog's best friends.  That's right; if your dog prefers another member of your family, spend time with that person. The dog may begin to think more favorably of you.
 
And also, play dead, it works! If your dog wants nothing to do with you, try lying down on the floor, he'll find your curious posture reassuring enough to approach.
