Jerry Lewis Behind-the-Scenes at the Telethon

Airdate : 8/28/2008
Jerry Lewis, in town for his famous telethon, buzzed around Las Vegas on his motorized scooter.

The legendary comedian invited INSIDE EDITION's cameras behind-the-scenes to watch him prepare for his 43rd Annual Muscular Dystrophy Telethon.

"Ed McMahon is going to be your co-host yet again?" asks INSIDE EDITION's Kristina Guerrero.
"Yep," says Lewis.

Jerry and the former Tonight Show sidekick have been close friends for decades.

Lewis is always on the move, so it's hard to believe he's 82-years-old and has difficulty breathing.  But there have been some concerns about his health.  Video from 2006 of a bloated Lewis, dazed and confused and needing help to sit, frightened millions of his fans.

At one point the star ballooned up to 265 pounds after taking medication for a lung condition.  But today, Jerry has bounced back.

"I'm doing great, I'm 170 pounds," Jerry told INSIDE EDITION.  He told INSIDE EDITION's Kristina Guerrero that working is what keeps him healthy and at his best.
