The Doctors
Monday, September 8th
He's the hunky ER doctor on a mission!
Dr. Travis Stork is one of four physicians hosting a groundbreaking new talk show, The Doctors, premiering Monday, September 8th.
These specialists tackle America's toughest medical questions, and as Stork tells INSIDE EDITION, "We're answering questions that you've always been a little too embarrassed to ask your own doctor."
There are tears and tough love because these caring hosts don't hold anything back!
Joining the team is: OB/GYN Dr. Lisa Masterson, plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon and pediatrician Dr. Jim Sears. Handsome ER doc Dr. Travis Stork may look familiar...he was ABC's hunk on the eighth season of The Bachelor.
Talking about what he wants viewers to take away from the new talk show, Stork says, "You go see your doctor now and after five minutes the doctor is so busy that the appointment's over...you leave the office thinking, 'Gosh, there are one or two questions I really wanted to ask and I didn't have time!'"
Jay McGraw, the show's creator, is Dr. Phil's son. He says, "When we went out to find these doctors I wanted to find the four doctors that we go to most commonly in our lives."
He went on to say that the idea for The Doctors was born after watching his dad's show. "There were so many people asking questions of my dad saying, 'I know you're not a medical doctor but can you find out the answer to this and this and this?'"
The show isn't your average talk show. McGraw says, "We wanted to design a set that didn't require these guys to be television hosts, they're not! They're doctors!" McGraw continued, "We have an exam room on the set where they can go over and do anything [even] a 4D ultrasound." In addition to the on-set exam room, McGraw says that the show will also have a procedure room backstage for lengthier procedures.
The doctors will be taking viewer questions via e-mail and video clips. They also plan to have vigorous discussions on set, so viewers will get four medical opinions rather than just one. It is a show they say that will change the lives of its viewers.
