Airdate : 9/30/2008
Mindy McCready Back to Jail

Country star Mindy McCready was supposed to do community service as part of her penalty on a drug charge.  But after being charged with falsifying papers about her service, she's headed back to jail.  INSIDE EDITION was there when she turned herself in to Nashville authorities on charges of violating parole.

McCready looked upbeat and managed to smile through her pain, even laughing with friends as she waited in the courtroom.

It's the latest chapter in the downward spiral of a once-rising country star, who was at one time engaged to actor Dean Cain.  She has faced previous drug and assault charges, and she is now being sent back to jail for 60 days.  As she was placed in custody, she gave a wave and blew a kiss to her friends, mouthing "I love you."

McCready says she hoping for a singing comeback when she gets out of jail.
