The 81st Annual Academy Award nominations were announced on Thursday, January 22nd, 2009 by Oscar®-winner Forest Whitaker and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Sid Ganis.
Academy Award winners, honoring outstanding film achievements in 2008, will be revealed on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 at the Kodak theater in Hollywood. The glamorous, star-studded evening in Tinseltown will mark the unofficial end of the busy awards season.
