The Bride Wore Handcuffs

Airdate : 3/24/2009

The Texas bride who was arrested on her wedding night and arraigned before a judge in her white gown is speaking out for the first time to INSIDE EDITION.

"I was horrified," says 26-year-old Jade Puckett. "It's not any girl's dream to spend the night in jail."

She says the happiest day of her life turned into a nightmare when police pulled her groom over for drunk driving. Billy Puckett pled no contest to driving while drunk, while his bride pled guilty to public intoxication.

Inside her wedding album Puckett has one strange photo – it's her mug shot complete with bloodshot eyes!

When asked what he and his new wife did wrong, Billy was brutally honest, saying, "We stepped in the car."

But, Puckett isn't the first bride to spend her wedding night in a jail cell.

It's nearly impossible to forget the out of control Connecticut bride whose foul-mouth tirade ended up with her in the slammer.

18-year-old bride Adrienne Samen was booked in 2003 for criminal mischief on her wedding night after she got into a fight at her reception hall.

Another real-life bridezilla asked not to be filmed as she was escorted her prison cell.

It was certainly not the image this new bride wanted in her wedding album – walking out of jail, still in her wedding dress after police say she and her groom got into a brawl with another wedding party. Following close behind his new bride, the groom has a swollen black eye, bloody t-shirt, tuxedo pants and is missing a shoe.

As for the bride from Texas, she's filed a complaint about the way she was treated in jail. She claims she was put on display in her cell because everyone wanted to see the bride who spent her wedding night behind bars. Authorities say they are reviewing the claims made by Jade Puckett.
