Melissa Joan Hart is striking a pose in her bikini on the cover of the new issue of People magazine.
The one-time child star of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Clarissa Explains It All reveals she's lost 42 pounds since the birth of her second son Braydon, now nearly 15-months-old.
She says a photo taken of her three months after Braydon's birth "horrified" her into shedding the weight.
According to People magazine's Senior Editor Galina Espinoza, "Melissa was devastated, not only that someone would take this photo of her not looking her best, but also what the blogs said about it. She says she still checks the blogs sometimes and hears people talking about how fat she is."
The 5' 2" star says she gained 55 pounds during her two pregnancies, getting up to 170 pounds.
To shed the pounds, Hart hired a nutritionist and a personal trainer who put her on a strict diet and workout regimen.
"Breakfast now is pretty much a protein shake. For lunch she'll have a turkey avocado wrap and dinner is almost always some type of fish," says Espinoza.
It took her 14 months to do it, but the actress's down to 113 pounds and she's got her bikini body back!
"For Melissa it was pretty scary to get back into a bikini. In fact, she told People magazine her own husband didn't want her to do it because he didn't think she could get back in that kind of shape. She was determined to prove him and everyone else wrong."
The 33-year-old says her biggest fear is that the weight will creep back on, but for now she's ready for the beach!
