A Tour of Phil Spector's Castle on a Hill
Phil Spector's beautiful young wife is taking INSIDE EDITION on a rare tour inside his castle on the hill.
The look inside begins in the entry hallway, the same place where actress Lana Clarkson was shot to death. Rachelle Spector also married the music legend there.
When asked if she was at all superstitious tying the knot on the very spot where her husband was convicted of killing the blonde beauty, she says, "No, no actually not at all. I had my mind on happier things."
The bureau where Spector kept the murder weapon is now covered with wedding photos in little heart-shaped frames.
The massive home sits alone on a hilltop in Los Angeles. It's modeled after a medieval castle, right down to the suits of armor and coat of arms above the mantle.
It's 15,000 square feet and has an impressive 35 rooms.
Now that her husband is in jail for murder, possibly for the rest of his life, Rachelle walks the halls alone. Rachelle says she doesn't find the home scary at all, even by herself. "It's our home."
Spector's been in jail for six weeks since his conviction following a mistrial, but his presence still fills his house.
There's an enormous dining room with a wooden table that looks like something straight out of a gothic movie. A small side room is the place Spector spent hours pondering his chess set.
There's also a spectacular living room filled with, of all things, President Obama memorabilia. According to Rachelle, Spector was a big fan of the President.
At the bar Spector could have poured himself a quiet drink.
During the tour, the couple's staggering age difference becomes evident. He's 69; she's 28, too young to even recognize some of the celebrities in her husband's photos.
Rachelle spends most of her time alone upstairs in their bedroom. She says she still longs for her husband. "Sometimes I'm sleeping and I wake up in the middle of the night, hyperventilating because he's not here."
Spector has been sentenced to 19 years to life in prison which means unless his conviction is overturned he may never see his castle again.
