She butchered a 9-year-old girl, just to see how it felt to kill someone. That's the horrific claim prosecutors are making about accused murderer Alyssa Bustamante, who's only 15 herself.
Authorities say Bustamante killed beautiful little Elizabeth Olten, one of her neighbors, in a truly shocking way.
Prosecutors say the 15-year-old girl planned every detail of the murder in advance. They say she even dug a grave in the woods behind her house so she'd have a place to hide the body. Then, on that fateful evening, authorities say she attacked Olten, stabbing and strangling her. She then followed through with the plan and buried the little girl's body in the woods.
Unaware of Olten's fate, dozens of searchers combed the area near her home in St. Martins, Missouri, after she went missing.
Cops zeroed in on Bustamante as a suspect, and they say she eventually led them to Olten's body.
"We had been through that area more than once. The body was very well concealed," said a police spokesman during a press conference.
INSIDE EDITION found sinister-looking photos on the accused killer's web pages. She wears goth makeup and points a make-believe gun to her head in one. In another, you can see fake blood on her mouth and cut marks on her wrists. She reportedly listed her hobbies as "cutting" and "killing people."
In a YouTube video, Bustamante grasps an electrified fence, then urges her brothers to do the same.
Meanwhile, Olten's funeral was drenched with emotion. A white horse-drawn carriage bore her casket to the cemetery.
Grief-stricken family members and friends hugged each other at the graveside, and scores of pink balloons were released into the sky.
The family faced the accused killer at a court hearing.
Alyssa Bustamante, who has been charged as an adult, is accused of first degree murder. She has pled not guilty.
