Fireworks explode at Cibeles Square at the end of the carnival parade in Madrid, Spain. This year’s Madrid's Carnival theme is the novel Don Quijote de la Mancha (Don Quixote) written by Miguel de Cervantes. The festival was forbidden for 44 years in Madrid during Franco's dictatorship.
