Believe it or not, Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert is ahead in the polls.
A just-released poll finds Colbert in first place with 20 percent of the vote in South Carolina, where he grew up. The seat opened up following Senator Jim Demint's announcement that he was quitting.
On Monday's show, Colbert said, "I am the clear first choice here. My network contract prohibits me from taking on another full-time job, so, the senate would be perfect."
