The Costa Concordia was lifted from the sea in a salvage operation in Isola del Giglio, Italy. Workers and engineers successful hoisted the stricken Costa Concordia vessel, which sank on January 12, 2012. The operation, which took 19 hours to complete, was a success. The ship was towed away and scrapped.
