President Trump's Grandchildren Meet Pardoned Turkeys Drumstick and Wishbone

After the ceremony, the first family headed to Mar-a-Lago to celebrate the holiday.

The first family has continued a holiday tradition by pardoning their first Thanksgiving turkeys.

President Donald Trump was joined by his children and grandchildren at the annual presidential tradition in the White House Rose Garden.

Ivanka Trump, her daughter Arabella and Trump's youngest daughter, Tiffany, wore festive red coats for the event. Also in attendance was Ivanka's son, Joseph.

Barron Trump, 11, stood next to his father and his mom for his second public appearance in two days.

He was also seen with his mother, first lady Melania Trump, on Monday as the White House received this year’s Christmas tree.

The pre-teen had surprised observers with his height. On Tuesday, he towered over his mom and is catching up to his 6-foot-2-inch dad.

During the turkey pardoning, the president said he has been "very active in overturning" executive actions of his predecessor, Barack Obama, including the amnesty of last year's turkeys — Tator and Tot.

"I have been informed by the White House counsel's office that Tater and Tot's pardons cannot, under any circumstances, be revoked," Trump joked. "So, Tater and Tot, you can rest easy."

This year he pardoned two more turkeys, Drumstick and Wishbone.

The first family then flew to the "Winter White House" at Mar-a-Lago for the long Thanksgiving weekend.

It's the Trumps' first visit to their luxurious Palm Beach club since it closed for the summer season last April.

Security is tight at Mar-a-Lago and members have been told "pocket knives, laser pointers, pepper spray and other items deemed to be a safety hazard" are not permitted on the property.
