Would you believe you can get tons of products for free? It's good news in these tough economic times.
"I've saved hundreds of dollars over the past year," says Heather Hernandez. Hernandez, a mom of two from Houston, Texas has become an expert at getting free stuff. She's even started a website, Freebies4mom.com to share her findings.
"There are so many things you can get for free," Heather tells INSIDE EDITION. She says gets dishwashing detergent, DVDs, toothpaste, and even chocolate...all for free!
"Companies love to give away free samples because it entices the consumer to buy," says Suzanna Rust, an editor for Real Simple magazine. She says all you have to do to get free stuff is ask!
"It can be as simple as going to a website or as simple as walking into the store that sells your favorite products and asking them for a sample," explains Rust.
There are dozens of websites out there where you can simply sign up for all kinds of free stuff.
"It's simply a matter of knowing where to go," says Heather.
Heather says go directly to the websites of manufacturers like Procter & Gamble; the company makes a wide variety of household products and will mail out samples directly to consumers.
Heather gets free stuff in the mail every day, and it's not junk! She gets valuable items that everyone uses. The day INSIDE EDITION was there, she got a new lunchbox for her kids.
"It's like getting presents in my mailbox, and that's the part I love about it. If companies want to send me stuff for free, I'm going to take advantage of that," says Heather.
