Rihanna's Father Speaks

ORIGINAL AIRDATE: 3/9/2009

Rihanna's father Ronald Fenty spoke to INSIDE EDITION about the February incident between his daughter and Chris Brown.

Fenty says he has not heard from his superstar daughter since her 21st birthday, February 20th.

One of Rihanna's records hangs on the wall of Fenty's Barbados home.

A collage of Rihanna's 2007 magazine covers adorns another wall.

Both Donald Trump and Oprah have spoken in response to the suggestion that Rihanna is back with Chris Brown.

Fenty says he is confused and concerned and asks Rihanna to call him as soon as she can.
"I'm disappointed in you.  I am totally disappointed and upset with you too," says Rihanna's anguished father, sending a message to singer Chris Brown, who's accused of beating the superstar.

Brown is charged with beating Rihanna as they drove around Los Angeles in a rented Lamborghini.  "I couldn't believe it, to be honest with you.  I'm still in shock"

INSIDE EDITION spoke exclusively to Rihanna's father Ronald Fenty at his home in Barbados, the Caribbean island where Rihanna grew up.

In the home, he proudly displays framed magazine covers that feature the daughter he calls Ree-Ree.

She looked very different immediately after the assault.  Fenty says he has cried many times over her injuries.

"Tears came to my eyes many nights.  Last night I was crying in my bed," he confides.

Rihanna's father says his daughter had her numbers and e-mail address changed after the incident, and he's been unable to reach her to see how she is doing.

He's had to follow the case in magazines and on television.  He says Rihanna did send a text message on her 21st birthday two weeks ago.

"She texted, 'Daddy I miss you,' and that's the last time I heard from her," says Fenty.

Meanwhile, it's being claimed that Brown's attack was in response to Rihanna hitting him first, with her stiletto heel.

Amid reports that Rihanna and Brown have reconciled, Oprah sounded this warning: "Love doesn't hurt, and if a man hits you once, he will hit you again!"

And Donald Trump had a harsh reaction to the idea that Rihanna is back with Brown: “If she goes back, she’s a loser, and she doesn’t deserve to have any future success.”

But Fenty has a message of his own for the daughter he longs to hear from: "I love you.  Call me as soon as you can."
