Thirty-four-year-old Tina Von, who lives near Portland, Oregon, used to have a lovely smile.  But, after struggling for 15 years with an addiction to methamphetamines, Tina's wonderful smile and beautiful teeth disappeared.  Her addiction took a terrible toll on her life and on her appearance. Her skin turned blotchy, and even worse is what happened to her teeth. 

Tina told INSIDE EDITION that her teeth literally just started to fall out.  It's called "meth mouth," and dentists say it's an epidemic.  Dentist, Dr. Keith Collins, explained to INSIDE EDITION, "the teeth decay like an apple core and break off at the gums."  "Meth mouth," he says, "is caused by side effects of meth addiction including dry mouth, a craving for sugary drinks, poor dental hygiene and uncontrollable jaw clenching and grinding."

Dr. Collins said Tina was a good candidate for a full dental overhaul. She'd been off drugs for a year, and has the support of her mom and her boyfriend, Darryl, whom she met in recovery.

It was her appearance that was holding her back. Tina said she'd applied for dozens of jobs but no one would hire her.  She told INSIDE EDITION of the difficulty of walking in with an application and then having to smile and say, "I'd like a job here."  Dr. Collins said, though it would take a lot of work, he could give Tina back her beautiful smile.

After the procedure, Tina took her first look at her newly restored smile, and was greatly pleased with the results.  But her transformation didn't end there. Tina's dreams of rejoining society and finding a job also took her to a salon for a new hairstyle, and new make-up to even out her skin's pigmentation.

With her new cut, make-up and dazzling smile, Tina's mother thinks her daughter's new look is going to help her turn her life around, and her boyfriend is left almost speechless.

As for Tina, she's hoping her new teeth and overall makeover will improve her chances of making a good first impression.
