    Creator Of Iconic 'I'd Like To Buy The World a Coke' Commercial Dies at 89

    The man who created one of the most successful television ads of all time has passed away. Bill Backer, who was the architect behind Coca-Cola's iconic commercial about peace, love and soda passed away Friday at 89 in Warrenton, Virginia. The 1971 commercial was filmed in an Italian hillside where a group of young people singing "I'd like to buy the world a Coke and keep it company." The popular commercial earned Backer a reputation as the man who "taught the world to sing."

    Fire Captain No Longer Needs Reading Glasses After Groundbreaking New Surgery

    Captain A.J. Martinez has a ton of glasses for various things he needs to do like look at a computer and has many spares for wherever he goes. He turned to Dr. Robert Lin for the newly approved KAMRA eye surgery that the doctor says will enable him to read without glasses. The San Diego firefighter says he was blindsided when he turned 50 years old and suddenly "woke up in the morning and had blurry vision and I couldn't figure it out." Martinez says he felt great after the procedure and had no pain.
