    Hundreds Attend Funeral Of Slain Baton Rouge Police Officer Shot By Ex-Marine

    Hundreds of people paid their condolences at the funeral of a Baton Rouge police officer who was shot last week by an ex-Marine. Those close to Matthew Gerald, a former Marin and Iraq veteran, say he was a protector. The 41-year-old finished his training for the Baton Rouge Police Department earlier this year and received permission to ride by himself just two weeks before his death. Gerald was just one of the three cops fatally last weekend. He leaves behind a wife and two daughters.

    Fire Captain No Longer Needs Reading Glasses After Groundbreaking New Surgery

    Captain A.J. Martinez has a ton of glasses for various things he needs to do like look at a computer and has many spares for wherever he goes. He turned to Dr. Robert Lin for the newly approved KAMRA eye surgery that the doctor says will enable him to read without glasses. The San Diego firefighter says he was blindsided when he turned 50 years old and suddenly "woke up in the morning and had blurry vision and I couldn't figure it out." Martinez says he felt great after the procedure and had no pain.
