Mama June and Pumpkin Come Out as Bisexual
Honey Boo Boo's mother 'Mama June' and sister 'Pumpkin' both come out as bisexual in this exclusive interview with INSIDE EDITION
‘Mama June’ Shannon and daughter Lauryn Thompson, aka Pumpkin, from “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” are no strangers to controversy. The two reality TV stars sat down with INSIDE EDITION for a lengthy interview discussing both Mama June and Pumpkin’s sexual history.
With her mother by her side, Pumpkin used the forum to tell the world that she is bisexual, telling us, "I'm attracted to females, and I’m attracted to males. You cannot hide who you truly are.”
While Mama June was there to support her daughter, the focus quickly turned to her, as Pumpkin suddenly blurted out, "She is gay, too! June is gay, too!”
Smiling at her daughter, and not at all shocked, Mama June chimed in to clarify, “Bisexual.” June then elaborated with the comment, “I'm not going to lie, I played in the minors but never went pro.”
Pumpkin wouldn’t let that statement go untouched, as she added, “Yeah, you did go pro.”
So what does the baseball metaphor mean? Mama June claims she has fooled around with women but has never had a real relationship with one.
After this bold announcement from both mom and daughter, do the reality TV stars fear potential backlash? Both Pumpkin and Mama June live in a very conservative part of the country, but June isn’t going to let that bother her. When asked about the reaction back home, she kept her response simple, “I look at it this way, haters are going to hate.”
As for their current relationships, Mama June recently separated from Honey Boo Boo’s father Sugar Bear, and Pumpkin is single, but is hoping to get back together with her ex-girlfriend.
Pumpkin reached out to her with a text message that she read for INSIDE EDITION, "I am asking for another chance with you because I want to prove to you that I can treat you the way you deserve."
