9-Year-Old Wows With National Anthem Rendition at Little League Baseball Game

This was the first time she performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" at a baseball game.

The audience may have come to watch the Little League championship game, but the 9-year-old national anthem singer was the obvious home run.

Marley McAninch, 9, of Southern California, performed a stunning rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the CA District 43 Little League game last week.

“I think I did really good,” Marley told InsideEdition.com.

Marley said she’s been singing all her life.

“I basically started [singing] since I could talk, which was 9 months old,” she said.

Her mom, Karla McAninch, added, “It’s like a musical in our house. She’s singing around all the time.”

In the past, Marley has done showcases, plays and musicals but the opportunity to sing at a local ball game came up at the last minute.

“The night before, I got a text message that said, ‘Would Marley be interested in singing?’” her mom recalled. “She’s usually up for everything, so she said yes and we just went.”

Even though Marley didn’t have much time to prepare, she said her two biggest keys to success helped her perform.

“Practice,” Marley said. “I practice a lot and I just try to keep myself confident.”
