Chris Brown Denies Rape Allegation After Being Detained in Paris

The woman who filed the complaint said she met Chris Brown and his friends at a club last week before returning to his hotel

Chris Brown is denying allegations of rape, after French officials told the Associated Press he was detained in Paris.

The singer and two others, including his bodyguard, were detained Monday after a woman filed a rape complaint.

The woman who filed the complaint said she met Brown and his friends at a club last week before returning to his hotel, where she alleges she was raped, the AP reported.

He has since taken to Instagram to deny the allegations, writing, "I WANNA MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR...... THIS IS FALSE AND A WHOLE LOT OF CAP! NNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!! FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY FAMILY THIS IS SO DISPRESPECTFUL AND IS AGAINST MY CHARACTER AND MORALS!!!!!"

Brown has had multiple run-ins with the law since he began his career in singing and dancing as a teen.

He was arrested and released on bail last year after being accused of assaulting a photographer in April 2017. In May, Brown was sued by a woman who alleged she was sexually assaulted at his home by one of his associates in February 2017.

Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos said in both instances the allegations were untrue.

He was also charged last month for illegally owning a capuchin monkey as a pet after posting photos of the exotic animal to Instagram.

Even though authorities seized the monkey in Los Angeles, Brown insisted he didn’t own the monkey and it actually belonged to a relative who lived in Las Vegas, according to TMZ. He was later handed a misdemeanor charge for lacking a permit for the monkey and is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 6 in Los Angeles, according to the Associated Press.

Most notably, he pled guilty in 2009 to assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna, for which he served six years of probation.

A lawyer for Brown has not responded to InsideEdition.com’s request for comment on the Paris allegations.
