Chrissy Teigen Hilariously Documents 8-Hour 'Flight to Nowhere' on Twitter
Model Chrissy Teigen tweeted for hours Tuesday after her plane to Japan made a U-turn back to Los Angeles four hours into the flight.
The All Nippon Airways flight from LAX turned around after staff realized one of the plane's passengers was not supposed to be on board.
The passenger actually had a ticket for a United Airlines flight to Japan and mistakenly boarded the plane.
“A flying first for me: 4 hours into an 11 hour flight and we are turning around because we have a passenger who isn’t supposed to be on this plane. Why...why do we all gotta go back, I do not know,” Teigen tweeted Tuesday night while aboard the flight.
The pregnant star, who was traveling with her husband John Legend, made light of the situation in tweets throughout the night.
The pair spent eight hours in the air just to end up right back where they started.
An ANA spokesperson later confirmed a passenger boarded the wrong flight, reports said.
"During the flight, the cabin crew became aware that one of the passengers boarded the incorrect flight and notified the pilot," the airline said in a statement. "As part of the airline's security procedure, the pilot in command decided to return to the originating airport, where the passenger was disembarked."
The flight was reportedly rescheduled for 2 a.m. and the couple later re-boarded to fly to Tokyo.
"Taking off!!! Please don’t be the same menu please don’t be the same menu," Teigen tweeted.
