Couple Who Survived Las Vegas Concert Massacre Killed in Car Crash

A husband and wife in California have been killed in a car crash, less than a month after surviving the Las Vegas concert massacre.
Two weeks after Dennis Carver, 52, shielded his wife Lorraine, 53, as Stephen Paddock opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest Festival Oct.1, the loving couple died at the entrance of their Riverside community.
On the night of Oct. 16, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported the Carvers' vehicle crashed into a metal gate no more than a half mile from their home.
Their 16-year-old daughter ran toward the sound of the crash, where she found the vehicle engulfed in flames that would take firefighters an hour to extinguish.
The older of their two daughters called Dennis and Lorraine's love "selfless."
“That’s just the kind of love they had for each other,” Brooke Carver said about her father's decision to use his body as a shield from Paddock's bullets.
In the days after the shooting, family members say the couple's love only grew.
A Facebook post Lorraine wrote just after the shooting seems to sum up just how close the husband and wife were.
"I have the most amazing husband. Not only did he shield my body during the shooting in Las Vegas and guide me to safety but then he sends me flowers today. I am blessed," she wrote along with a photo of a vase of roses.
