Dozens of Creatures, Including Gators, Snakes and Skunks, Rescued From Pennsylvania Hoarder House: Authorities

Authorities are calling it one of the worst cases of animal hoarding they have ever seen.

Alligators, turtles, snakes and skunks were just some of the 250 exotic pets seized from a Pennsylvania home Thursday morning in what law officials are calling one of the worst cases of animal hoarding they have ever seen.

Dozens of guinea pigs, three alligators, two skunks, dozens of turtles and more than 100 snakes were found in a home in Montgomery County, according to KYW-TV.

“The animals were being kept in various stages of neglect, whether it be unsanitary conditions, lack of food and water,” said Officer Tracie Graham of the Montgomery County SPCA.

They said the two people who lived in the home kept the animals inside plastic bins.

"Many of them were kept in Tupperware bins, stacked on top of one another, some four or five feet high,” Graham explained. “The smell was atrocious."

Authorities raided another home connected to the same duo earlier this week, when they found another 100 snakes, dogs and birds.

While the pair has not been charged, "I am fairly confident we will be filing charges in this particular case," Graham said.
