Dr. Roshini Raj, Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU, says Ford could be in for a long recovery, telling INSIDE EDITION, “For someone to be in a hospital for three weeks that really says that these are pretty serious injuries. When someone breaks their pelvis and their ankle the bones start to heal around four to six weeks but it can take several months even up to a year to fully heal.”
The actor crash-landed on a golf course moments after taking off from Santa Monica Airport on March 5.
Details of the 72-year-old actor's injuries were kept quiet, but we're now learning he was really banged up.
Charlotte Triggs, senior editor of People magazine, told INSIDE EDITION, “Harrison reportedly had broken bones in his pelvis, ankle and he had a severe laceration on the side of his head.”
One thing's for sure, he is one very lucky guy.
“Anyone that survives a plane crash and has a broken pelvis and a scalp laceration I think it's pretty safe to say they are pretty lucky to be alive,” said Dr. Raj.
