Cate Blanchett is revealing that her past includes dating women.
In her latest movie, Carol, which is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this week, the 45-year-old Blanchett plays a lesbian who is attracted a much younger shop girl in 1950's New York. Rooney Mara plays her love interest in her new film.

During an interview with Variety, Blanchett was asked if it was her first turn as a lesbian. She answered "On film or in real life?"
She was asked if she's had relationships with women and the Oscar winner said "Yes, many times.”

Blanchett has been married to writer Andrew Upton since 1997 and has four children.
