Bristol Palin Joins Dancing With the Stars

Bristol Palin joins the cast of the new season of Dancing With The Stars, and INSIDE EDITION finds out what her mom thinks about it.

It's the official annoucement, Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol is joining Dancing With The Stars!

Bristol was asked why she decided to do this.

"Oh, I wanted to get out of Alaska for a few weeks," said Palin.

INSIDE EDITION caught up with Bristol backstage and asked about what her mom has to say.

"She told me to stay true to who I am, stay confident and stay true to your roots," said Bristol.

Bristol is also firing back at ex-fiance Levi Johnston, who has accused her of basking in the spotlight.

"This is not Playboy, Playgirl, that kind of stuff. I'm not running for mayor. This has nothing to do with who is in the spotlight today. No, this is fun and positive. This is who I am," said Bristol.

Bristol joins a stellar cast that includes Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino from Jersey Shore, Brady Bunch mom Florence Henderson and Audrina Patridge from The Hills.

Patridge says she's still in pain from her first rehersal, saying, "My calves are killing me. I feel muscles I never knew I had."

And there's someone who has a little dance experience—Jennifer Grey from the classic Dirty Dancing.

"This is freaky. This is full on freaky, dude," said Grey.

It's hard to believe Jennifer is now 50-years-old, and she's ready to take on David Hasselhoff. He's following his Baywatch co-star Pamela Anderson, who competed last season. Pam gave the Hoff some good advice.

"Oh yeah, she just said 'stand like this ( as he thrusts chest out) and you'll go far.' "
