What Did Sarah Palin Think of Bristol's Dancing Debut?

Dancing with the Stars kicked off its new season with Bristol Palin and a host of other stars. INSIDE EDITION reports from backstage with the scoop.

Bristol Palin strips off her jacket during her red hot performance on Dancing with the Stars.

Sarah Palin's 19-year-old daughter danced to the Three Dog Night classic, "Mama Told Me (Not to Come)." Bristol started her cha-cha-cha in a conservative outfit, something her mom would wear, but then she turned on the sexy.

Bristol tore off her jacket and let her hair down, revealing a short red fringe go-go dress that showed off lots of leg. She even wrapped her leg seductively around her partner and did lots of shimmies with her hips.

Dancing with the Stars judge Bruno Tonioli asked, "Is mother here?"  To which she replied, "No, she's not."

So where was Sarah Palin? She was back home in Alaska. Sarah posted a picture on her Twitter page along with a tweet saying, "over-the-moon and excited and happy for Bristol! Cheering her on @ DWTS party in the Palin living room."

The season premiere always brings opening night jitters but for Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey it also brought tears, because it evoked memories of her on-screen partner Patrick Swayze.

Grey's Viennese waltz was elegant, but during rehearsal she walked out in tears.

INSIDE EDITION's Jim Moret caught up with Grey backstage. "Did Patrick's wife reach out to you?" he asked.

"Yeah, she sent me a beautiful e-mail supporting me giving me a thumbs up," she said.

Grey got the highest scores of the night but had some tough competition in singer Brandy, and in 19-year-old Disney Channel star Kyle Massey.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Massey, "I think I just fell in love! You are officially my first crush of season 11."

Jersey Shore's Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino had only five days to rehearse, and in a first, he didn't show off his famous six pack! Backstage he told INSIDE EDITION why.

"You're taking this seriously?" Moret asks.

"I'm taking this seriously," he replied.

But Brady Bunch mom Florence Henderson bravely revealed her own 76-year-old midriff while saying, "Look out Mr. Situation!"

Moret asks her, "What were you thinking?"

"Well, I guess I wasn't! But that wasn't Carol Brady flashing, that was Florence Henderson!"

The last dance of the night was Baywatch star David Hasselhoff. The Hoff tried to be cool wearing shades and a leather jacket, but he ended up tying for the low scores of the night.
