Charlie Sheen Hospitalized in New York

Actor Charlie Sheen was taken to the hospital in New York City, reportedly intoxicated and acting disturbed after a night of hard partying. INSIDE EDITION reports.

It was a rough night in New York City for Charlie Sheen!

Police burst into the troubled actor's hotel room at 1:30 a.m. on October 26. They reportedly discovered Sheen, naked and incoherent, in a trashed hotel suite...all while his children were sleeping next door.

The drama unfolded at New York's Plaza Hotel. After a night of hard partying, Sheen returned to the swanky hotel with an unidentified woman. He is said to have flown into an angry rage after noticing his cell phone and wallet were missing. Hotel security called 911 after discovering tables and chairs were reportedly thrown around the room and a chandelier was damaged.

Police sources told the New York Post the woman with Sheen was a paid escort. She reportedly alerted hotel security when the actor passed out on the bed drunk, and hid in the bathroom when cops arrived, "fearing for her life."

A "disorderly" Sheen reportedly shouted at cops and was taken by ambulance to New York Presbyterian hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. Hotel guests say the actor left wearing only "shorts and a bathrobe."

Sheen told cops he had been drinking and snorting cocaine before his meltdown, according to the New York Post.

The actor's publicist released a statement down-playing the entire episode:

"What we are able to determine is that Charlie had an adverse reaction to some medication and was taken to the hospital, where he is expected to be released tomorrow."

Sheen's ex-wife Denise Richards stayed mum as she left the Plaza. She and their two daughters were staying in the Plaza's Eloise Suite right next door to the actor, and she was reportedly brought into Sheen's room during the incident to calm him down.

The estranged pair put their messy history behind them and spent the weekend together with their kids in New York City, going to the Museum of Natural History and seeing Mary Poppins on Broadway.

Richards went on the Howard Stern radio show just hours after Sheen was taken to the hospital. She opened up about their relationship and hinted that something was amiss, calling their trip "eventful."

The incident is just the latest in a list of troubling behavior in Sheen's past.

TV's highest paid actor, the star of CBS's Two and Half Men was arrested last year in Aspen, and pled guilty to assaulting wife Brooke Mueller.

Now he may find himself in hot water again after his wild night at the Plaza.

Sheen's latest drama comes just eight days before he was due to complete his probation.
