The Kardashian sisters recently opened their boutique Dash in New York's SoHo, and their new neighbors are not happy. INSIDE EDITION reports.
Kim Kardashian and sisters Khloe and Kourtney are continuing to take the nation by storm, but some residents of one New York City neighborhood want the Kardashians to keep out.
They say the sisters' recently opened boutique Dash is wreaking havoc on their trendy SoHo neighborhood.
Sean Sweeny is the director of the SoHo Alliance. He says the Kardashians are causing chaos because they draw huge crowds and are constantly filming for their new show Kourtney & Kim Take New York, which is all about opening the clothing store.
"I compare them to strip miners that come into a neighborhood, come into an area, and then ruin and destroy it and then after a year or two they move on to some other neighborhood and what's left is devastation," he tells INSIDE EDITION.
Some residents were especially angry about the wild scene outside Dash on opening night; even singer Kanye West got trapped in the screaming crowd.
"It was 1,000 people without any police preparation. They're lucky no one was injured. People got arrested, people were handcuffed. Is this what they think of their fans?" Sweeny says.
The stylish shop is the latest venture in the Kardashian family's growing empire. There are the hit reality shows Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, magazine covers, and a bestselling book, Kardashian Konfidential.
The Dash boutiques are already popular and successful in two other locations, Los Angeles and Miami.
But Scott Sweeny says the reality stars should close up shop and move out of his neighborhood.
The Daily Beast estimates Kim Kardashian earned about $6 million in 2010.
