Roger Ebert Wears New Prosthetic Chin

After losing part of his lower face to thyroid cancer, the beloved movie critic has a new look thanks to a prosthetic chin. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

A dramatic change in the appearance of Roger Ebert, as he wears a prosthetic chin for the first time.

You'll recall that the beloved TV film critic lost part of his jaw to cancer four years ago. The illness also cost him his voice. Ebert recovered his voice through computer technology, as he demonstrated on Oprah last year.

On Oprah, Ebert's computer voice says, " We have to find peace with the way we look and get on with life."

For his new show, Ebert Presents at the Movies, premiering tonight on PBS, he decided a new appearance was in order. A silicone prosthesis is "A pleasant reminder of the person I was for 64 years," he writes on his website.

"Symbolically, it's as if my illness never happened," Ebert writes on his website.
