George Lopez Apologizes to Kirstie Alley

George Lopez has apologized to Kirstie Alley for calling her a pig, and says he misjudged the joke. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

"She did a nice job, her little hooves tapping away," cracked George Lopez on his show Lopez Tonight after showing a clip of Kirstie Alley's performance on Dancing with the Stars.

"Before the show she went to the market, and then she had roast beef, and this is her going all the way home," he said, and showed a clip of a squealing pig.

It was a low blow, and even Lopez admits it.

Now Lopez is apologizing. He tweeted, "I misjudged the joke.  No malice was intended and I apologize to Kirstie."

The TV host sparked a wave of outrage with the crude comments and her fans leapt to her defense.

On the INSIDE EDITION Facebook page, Chantell M. says, "I have lost all respect for George Lopez."

Brenda B. writes, "He should be ashamed. It's inexcusable to treat others like that."

And Pamela N. says, "George is also not slim. It was hateful of him to say that."

On her Twitter page Alley laughed it off and cited the Three Little Pigs nursery rhyme

"Don't worry about George's comments...just remember what happens to the big bad, drunk woolf [sic]...falls in a boiling pot of vodka.Piggy laughs."

Alley, 60, just made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The Lopez controversy didn't come up, but her recent weight loss did.

"You look great. Did you lose some weight?" Leno asked her.

"I did, I lost 60 pounds this year!" Alley said.
