Growing Up Schwarzenegger

INSIDE EDITION reports on the effects the Schwarzenegger scandal may have on the children of the famous couple, and where they stand today.

How are Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver's children handling their father's bombshell confession?

Eldest daughter, Katherine, tweeted: "This is definitely not easy but I appreciate your love and support as I begin to heal and move forward in life. I will always love my family!"

In an interview in the fall of 2010 with INSIDE EDITION, Schwarzenegger said: "A lot of people think that because I come from famous parents and a well-known family that I would have a harder time than normal kids because I'd be in the spotlight, but my parents really tried and did an amazing job keeping me and my siblings out of the spotlight."

Katherine is a 21-year-old communications major at USC and is standing by both of her parents. But Katherine and her mom are especially close. While promoting her book, Rock What You've Got, Katherine told us that she had a poor self-image as a teenager, but her mom helped her get through it.

"I just felt stupid and that I really wasn't, like, worth anything," Schwarzenegger said. "So it was hard, but you know, my mom was amazing. I really learned the most important thing is to stay true to who you are and be yourself at all times."

Now, she'll have to apply those lessons her mom taught her to stay strong in these tough days ahead.
