It was a historic TV moment as Oprah Winfrey signed off for the last time. She concluded her 25 year-run with the poignant words: "I won't say goodbye, I'll just say, until we meet again."
After she scooped up her beloved cocker spaniel, Sadie, Oprah walked away from her legendary talk show forever.
Stedman told INSIDE EDITION that Oprah's nearest and dearest were gathering for an post-show party. "We're celebrating all day," Graham said.
On the show, Oprah kept it simple. In a coral dress with a dramatic sash, she opted not to give away cars, and instead, shared the wisdom she gained after over 25 years on the air.
Although her voice quivered with emotion, Oprah only broke down once. She began to cry as she imparted the audience with gratitude. "You and this show have been the great love of my life," she said.
The audience was a diverse bunch— from her most loyal viewers to celebrities, from her first co-host to her first teacher— but all were united in their adoration and admiration of Oprah.
"That was a tear-jerker," finance expert Suze Orman said.
Maria Shriver was also in attendance. She avoided reporters and sped off in an SUV at the show's conclusion.
For the last show, it was all about the fans who kept Oprah a TV idol for 25 years.
One viewer perfectly summed up the tenor of the event when she said: "[Oprah] is really going to be missed."
