Daytime Emmy Recap

The Daytime Emmy Awards were handed out last night and INSIDE EDITION has the details on the evening that celebrated a rapidly changing daytime TV landscape.

It was Regis Philbin's last hurrah as he won the award for Best Talk Show Host at the Daytime Emmy Awards one last time before leaving his show.

Rumors are swirling as to who will replace Philbin after his last show airs in November. The Wallstreet Journal listed American Idol's Ryan Seacrest as one of the front runners, alongside Bravo TV personality Andy Cohen and Kelly Ripa's husband, Mark Consuelos.

For Susan Lucci, the night was bittersweet. Her show, All My Children, is going off the air.

"The fans are on fire because we've been cancelled. They were on fire anyway, but they have been so vocal about keeping us on the air that it's wonderful to be here to respond to them," she said.

Lucci still managed to look great in a daring, short white dress that revealed lots of skin. You'd never know the star is a grandmother of three!

And it seemed that Lucci was enjoying the show, that is, until Wayne Brady cracked a joke about her TV departure.

"Can you believe it folks? Oprah retiring, Regis retiring, Meredith retiring, One Life to Live, All My Children, Erica Kane, forced retirement," Brady said.

Wheel of Fortune's Pat Sajack hit the jackpot along with Jeopardy's Alex Trebek. Both were presented with Lifetime Achievement awards.

Fittingly, Vanna White was on hand to present the award to her Wheel of Fortune costar. "It was an honor to present him the award, he deserves it," she said.
