Reaction to the New Cast of Dancing with the Stars

Reaction is pouring in over the new cast of Dancing with the Stars which includes Chaz Bono and Carson Kressley. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

Just when you thought the professional dancers couldn't get any better looking, Maksim Chmerkovskiy's brother, Val, has joined the cast -- he'll dance with George Clooney's ex-girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis.

It's the question on everyone's mind since the big announcement that Chaz Bono is  Dancing with the Stars 'first transgender contestant... Who will he dance with?

Chaz Bono will dance with Lacey Schwimmer!

We were behind the scenes as his partner was revealed on Good Morning America. Lacey Schwimmer is the hot 23-year-old pro who's danced with NSYNC's Lance Bass and the Disney Channel's Kyle Massey.

"She is amazing, I'm very lucky. I got exactly the perfect dance partner for me." exclaimed a happy Bono.

But there's been a widespread reaction to the casting of Bono and some of its ugly. Check out these comments on the Dancing with the Stars message board:

A Dancing with the stars fan commented, "When I heard that Chaz Bono was going to be on, I was sick...I just don't want that lifestyle choice continually flaunted in the media."

"Chaz Bono how low can this show sink... guess this will not be a family show any longer!!!!" said a concerned fan.

But the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is applauding the decision to invite Bono on the show; saying, "Chaz Bono joining the cast is a tremendous step forward."

"If people are open to me, than they'll see that I'm just like everybody else, and trans people are just like everybody else" said Bono.

INSIDE EDITION caught up with Nancy Grace stating, "I think that it sends a wonderful message that we should accept other people regardless of who they are, what they become, and what there choices are."

Bono is already practicing his moves and feeling the pain. He was photographed buying hot patches for his aching muscles.

The other pairings on the new season include David Arquette and Kym Johnson, Ricki Lake and Derek Hough, and Nancy Grace and new dancer Tristan MacManus.

Iraq war hero and All My Children star JR Martinez will dance with the gorgeous Karina Smirnoff. Hunky Maksim Chmerkovskiy will dance with Olympic soccer player Hope Solo.

And there's a last-minute addition to the cast: Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Carson Kressley. He wasn't at the big press conference this week because he just replaced Ryan O'Neal, who's recovering from knee surgery. We caught up with Kressley and partner Anna Trebunskaya on the Good Morning America set.

"I got a great dancer, you know. I was thinking I could get Maksim, or Mark Ballas, and than I did even better because I got Anna. So it's pretty cool, I'm very excited." said Kressley.

Trebunskaya replied, "I'm prettier than them".

"Well yeah, you're also lighter than them, in case I have to lift you up over my head" responded a happy Kressley.
