Johnny Weir Not Invited to Stars On Ice

Johnny Weir was not invited to perform with other Olympic figure skaters in the Stars On Ice tour. Some reportedly say the skating champion is too flamboyant for the tour. INSIDE EDITION has the details.

Is Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir too outrageous for the Stars On Ice tour? The 25-year-old championship skater was not invited to join the new national tour because he's reportedly "not family friendly".

INSIDE EDITION's Megan Alexander caught up with Weir as he was filming his Sundance Channel reality show in New York. She asked what his reaction was when he found out he was not going to a part of Stars On Ice.

"I'm very sad about that. I can't say that I'm happy I'm not part of the tour," said Weir.

Weir is known for pushing the envelope with his over-the-top outfits. He even once posed in high heels. And word is his flamboyant style was too much for the Stars On Ice tour's corporate sponsors.

"For the sponsor of a figure skating show to say that I'm too flamboyant for one of the most flamboyant sports in the world, it definitely hurt," said Weir.

But Stars On Ice says the allegations are "untrue and inaccurate."

Weir said, "It's just a shame that, in my own country, I'm not acceptable."
