Anthony Zoccolillo is the star of the new TLC reality show Mama's Boys of the Bronx, about thirty-something guys who live at home with their mothers and aren't ashamed of it.
"For me, I don't really embarrass easily," said Zoccolillo when INSIDE EDITION spoke with him recently.
Five years ago, he took part in a rental property scam with an interesting twist—he didn't own the properties he was renting out.
He was approached by KGTV investigative reporter J.W. August in San Diego about the situation. Never saying a word to August, Zoccollio ran away from the reporter and camera crew.
Zoccolillo was arrested and pleaded guilty to conspiracy and grand theft charges, and spent time behind bars.
Of course, he never mentioned any of this when INSIDE EDITION interviewed him and his mother at their home.
On the show, Zoccolillo is known only by his first name.
In an interesting exchange between Anthony and his mom after they told INSIDE EDITION their full names on camera, his mother said, "Shouldn't have to put a last name. Don't want to use the last name."
Anthony responded, "What does that have to do with anything?"
His mother said, "I'm just saying. Don't want to be looking for us."
Anthony said, "Who cares?"
These days, Zoccollillo manages a car dealership. He's learning the hard way that the spotlight that brings you fame can also shine on a not-so-proud past.
