Some cast members of TV's hit comedy Modern Family are reportedly banding together for bigger paychecks, and didn't show up for the first day of their new season. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
Is Sofia Vergara on strike? The Hollywood Reporter says she didn't showing up for work today at Fox Studios in Los Angeles to begin taping the new season of Modern Family because she's holding out for higher pay.
She was photographed 3,000 miles away in New York City just yesterday, shopping for pricey handbags at Barneys. And the rest of the cast are said to be supporting her.
Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Eric Stonestreet are all reportedly banding together with Vergara for more money. No word yet on where actor Ed O'Neil stands in the dispute.
The cast is reportedly asking for $200,000 per episode, each. They also want profit sharing and guaranteed raises for future seasons.
Bruce Fretts of TV Guide told INSIDE EDITION, "Sofia is in the one with the least to lose, in a way, because she's got her own empire that she's building with K-Mart, with the Pepsi ads that she's done, and she's doing movies."
This isn't the first time a high profile cast has held out for more money. The cast of Friends once banded together and successfully got $1 million per episode.
Just last week, gorgeous Vergara was just named Forbes highest paid actress on TV. She made $19 million last year alone.
"I don't think Modern Family fans have anything to worry about. This will all get resolved," said Fretts.
