Joan Rivers in handcuffs!
The comedienne handcuffed herself to a shopping cart during a protest at a Costco store in Burbank, California. Rivers used a bullhorn to blast Costco because it refuses to sell her new book, I Hate Everyone...Starting With Me.
"This is America! The United States of America. My book has been banned by Costco," exclaimed Rivers.
Rivers said, "This is anti-First Amendment freedom of speech, and I thought Costco buyers should have the right to decide whether or not they want to read this book."
First, she gave away copies of the book outside the Costco store and even autographed them. Then she stormed inside and marched up to the first shopping cart she saw.
Rivers said to a shopper, "What's your name?"
"Cynthia," replied the shopper.
"Cynthia, you're going to be famous," said Rivers.
That's when she got out the handcuffs and locked on to the shopping cart. The store manager called the cops. They escorted Rivers from the store. She wasn't arrested but got in the last word.
"I am not retreating. First Amendment rights! Everybody, today we made history!" exclaimed Rivers.
