Joan Rivers Speaks Out About Costco Stunt

INSIDE EDITION sat down with Joan Rivers to talk about her protest at Costco where she handcuffed herself to a shopping cart.

"It has turned into an amazing publicity stunt. It was just a hot day and we were being silly," comedian Joan Rivers told INSIDE EDITION.

She's now speaking out about an outrageous stunt where she handcuffed herself to a shopping cart at a Costco store in Burbank, California.

Rivers yelled, "Today we made history! In Costco!"

Costco refuses to sell her new book I Hate Everyone...Starting With Me, saying it's too racy. But Rivers told INSIDE EDITION the book ban violates her right of free speech.

"First Amendment rights! Freedom of speech! Tom Paine, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin—all of whom I slept with," said Rivers.
