Robert Pattinson Makes First Public Appearance Since Break-Up

Since splitting with his love, Kristen Stewart, after she admitted to cheating on him, Robert Pattinson was all smiles promoting his new film. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

The atmosphere outside the Museum of Modern Art in New York Monday was a mob scene as hundreds of screaming Twi-hard fans clamored for Robert Pattinson.

Pattinson definitely obliged, smiling and chatting, taking the time to pose for pictures and sign autographs.

The Twilight star emerged from weeks of seclusion to attend the premiere of his new movie, Cosmopolis.

He posed for pictures on the red carpet, showing no sign of strain from the humiliating cheating scandal with his ex-love, Kristen Stewart.

E! News correspondent, Alicia Quarles told INSIDE EDITION, "He was the usual Robert I have always seen in interviews. I have interviewed him. Laughing, jubilant, you would never know anything has happened."

His appearance was seen by the New York Post as a message to Kristen Stewart as they posted on the cover of the newspaper, "Stew U!"

Pattinson's much-anticipated appearance on The Daily Show  was strained and awkward.

Host Jon Stewart brought out pints of Ben and Jerry's ice cream in a attempt to break the ice.

Stewart joked, "The last time I had a bad break-up, Ben and Jerry got me through some of the tougher times."

But, the famously shy Pattinson wasn't dishing the dirt. He explained his silence since the scandal broke by claiming he has no publicist to advise him on how to respond.

"My biggest problem in my life is I'm cheap. I didn't hire a publicist, and every awkward interview, you know, actors get things scripted. I'm going to hire a publicist," said Pattinson.

Stewart replied, "I think you should."
