Phyllis Diller is being remembered for her groundbreaking comedy about once-taboo topics like plastic surgery. INSIDE EDITION looks back at the last days of the comic legend.
The one and only Phyllis Diller attended the last party of her life, a 25th wedding anniversary celebration for another showbiz legend, Zsa Zsa Gabor.
Diller said at the party, "Well you know, Zsa Zsa and I are the same age. I always thought she was younger!"
Funny and vital as ever, Diller sat down for a rest, as the cameras clicked away.
Believe it or not, she considered herself a cougar, saying at the party, "I am a cougar."
Apparently, she wasn't kidding! On CBS This Morning, fellow trailblazing comic Joan Rivers spoke of the last time she saw her 95-year-old friend, just a month ago.
Rivers said, "I said to her, 'Is there a man in your life? She said, 'Yes! Ha ha ha ha!' "
Phyllis Diller was one of the first celebrities to admit to having had plastic surgery, 15 times in all, and she was proud of it. In a 1997 INSIDE EDITION interview she said, "Hi! I'm Phyllis Diller. Next on Inside Edition, celebrity plastic surgery. Works for me!"
