Reaction is pouring in to the rumored pick for Kelly Ripa's permanent co-host.
NFL star Michael Strahan appears to have scored the gig vacated by Regis. The former New York Giants player is a frequent fill-in on Live with Kelly.
New York's Daily News called Strahan a "smart choice for Kelly." But reaction was mixed in a People.com poll with 51% of voters saying he's not the right choice.
Strahan and Ripa would make a unique pairing with Strahan measuring 6'5" towering over the 5'3" inch Ripa. He's one of 59 people who's filled in as a co-host.
Even David Letterman joked on his show and said, "Finding a co-host for Kelly Ripa has been more difficult than finding Mitt Romney's tax returns."
