Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban Join American Idol

Reports are surfacing that some of the new American Idol judges may not be getting along so well. As the contestants battle it out onstage, will the real battles be in the judges seats? INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

It's official - Nikki Minaj and Keith Urban have joined Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson on American Idol.

Minaj, who was a guest performer on Idol last season, and country star Urban, the husband of Nicole Kidman, were only just confirmed as judges this weekend, just hours before the first day of auditions were held at the Time Warner Center in New York.

But could the new season of Idol turn into the battle of the divas? It's already been reported that Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj are not getting along. Mariah reportedly wanted to be the only woman on the panel.

Mariah is making 18 million dollars, Nikki 8 million. But the cast was all smiles when Mariah tweeted a photo.

"A festive dinner with friends... Here we go!" Mariah said.
