The Carol Burnett Show ran for 11 seasons in the 60's and 70's.
INSIDE EDITION's Paul Boyd sat down with Burnett and her long time co-stars Tim Conway and Vicki Lawrence. Harvey Korman passed away in 2008. The deluxe box set DVD of their classic show has just been released.
The skit that got the biggest laugh in the show's history was the Gone With the Wind skit, where Carol Burnett played Scarlett O'Hara, wearing the famous curtain rod dress. Harvey Korman, playing Rhett Butler, said, "That gown is gorgeous."
Burnett got a huge laugh with her response, "Thank you. I saw it in the window and just couldn't resist it."
Burnett told INSIDE EDITION, "I think that's one of the funniest sight gags ever on television."
The skits that Burnett crew appeared in so many years ago still hold up today. Conway still brings his Mr. Wiggins character to life from time to time.
"Especially when I'm being arrested you know. 'No listen, I don't know how fast I was going but if you want to follow me...' " Conway joked.
For Lawrence, getting on the show when she was just 17-years-old was a dream. She actually wrote a fan letter asking for an audition, and it worked.
"Is that your beginning? The origin of Vicki Lawrence to the show?" asked Boyd.
"Yeah...The letter made its way somehow to Carol's office," said Lawrence.
The show featured some of the biggest guest stars in the world.
Boyd asked, "Was it really as easy as picking up the phone and saying, 'Would you mind doing a guest spot?' "
"Actually, it was," said Burnett.
The Jackson Five came on as musical guests, and also performed in a rare comedy skit with Burnett. And just their luck, an actual earthquake struck. The camera shook and Burnett ad-libbed a line and went on with the show.
And Burnett showed INSIDE EDITION she's still got her famous Tarzan yell.
"Well, it's not quite there, but it's not bad," said Burnett.
