Rednecks Are The New Guido's On MTV's Buckwild

So long Jersey Shore, hello Appalachian Trail. MTV has a new reality show that’s causing a ruckus before it even hits the airwaves. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

Move over Snookie! It's the show replacing the Jersey Shore and it is just as controversial.

Buckwild, shot in rural West Virginia, is being called "Crude garbage."

“It’s degrading, demeaning, it's not even funny," said commentator, Pat Buchanan. He calls it a triple X version of the Beverly Hillbillies. Many of the locals are horrified too.

One West Virginian called it, “An embarrassment to our wonderful state."

Chris Harnick of the Huffington Post said, “It’s taking the Jersey Shore elements of people who like to party, and combining with the current craze which is, you know, redneck stuff. It could be a big hit for MTV."

Buckwild is just the latest in an explosion of shows dubbed 'Redneck TV.'

Hillbilly Handfishin', American Hoggers, Swamp People, and of course, the highly rated Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

A show that singer Adam Levine of NBC's TheVoice, just blasted in GQ Magazine, calling it, “Literally the worst thing that's ever happened! bleep those idiots!"

Barbara Walters spoke in defense of Honey Boo Boo and her family Tuesday on The View.

“It’s a very sweet, kind of funny family,” Walters said.
