On Stage and Backstage At The SAG Awards

INSIDE EDITION was on the red carpet and backstage at the Screen Actor's Guild Awards to bring you details from one of Hollywood's biggest nights.

There was a fashion emergency at the SAG awards as Jennifer Lawrence's dress appeared to fall apart on live TV, and there was a shocked reaction.

Jennifer Lawrence won the SAG award for Best Actress in a drama for Silver Linings Playbook. But as she was making her way up to the stage, she got snagged on a chair and her dress appeared to rip in half. It looked like the bottom of her dress slipped down, exposing her legs. But, it turns out the dress didn't come apart. It's actually made of two tiers. Lawrence just lifted the top layer, showing the sheer lining.

The gown wasn't her only obstacle. She's recovering from pneumonia. It seems awards and sickness go hand-in-hand for the rising star. At the Golden Globes two weeks ago, she had the flu.

Backstage, INSIDE EDITION's Jim Moret caught up with all the winners.

It was another big big night for Ben Affleck. He and the cast of Argo won for Best Ensemble cast in a movie.

Affleck told Moret, "It's really been a thrill. I'm completely shocked. We were in the company of these amazing films."

One winner was known before the show—Dick Van Dyke, who had a touching tribute with his Lifetime Acheivement award.

The veteran actor beamed as he gingerly took the stage. It's hard to believe he's 87 years old. Van Dyke joked with INSIDE EDITION, "I'm looking for work. I'm still singing. I'm still dancing, and I'm available."

The cast of Modern Family won for Best Sitcom Ensemble and, moments later, proudly posed for our camera.

Anne Hathaway continued her winning streak with the award for Best Actress for Les Miserables. Hathaway was a winner in the fashion stakes too, looking ravishing in a flowing Giambattista Valli gown with a sheer neck and skirt.

Classic black was the order of the night. KCBS Entertainment Reporter Suzanne Marques told INSIDE EDITION, "I saw more subdued colors, like navy. Jennifer Lawrence wore a navy gown. We saw a lot of great, classic colors and old Hollywood. Tina Fey had a very 1950s classic look going on."

But there were splashes of color too. Jessica Chastain chose daring red while Lea Michele was pretty in pink.

Jennifer Garner stood out in a figure hugging gold metallic Oscar de la Renta gown while Helen Hunt and Naomi Watts sparkled in silver.

But our pick for best dressed of the night was Sofia Vergara. Marques said, "She was wearing this shimmery cream gown that showed off every bit of her curves."
