Some Say Satan Resembles Obama On 'The Bible' Mini-Series Stirring Controversy

Some are asking if it's just a coincidence, or a not-so-subtle political statement that the character of the Devil in TV's hit miniseries The Bible bears a resemblance to President Obama. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.

Fans of the History Channel's hit series The Bible are reeling over the stunning resemblance between the actor portraying the devil and President Obama.

Radio host Glenn Beck tweeted, "Anybody else think the devil in the bible Sunday on History Channel looks exactly like that guy?"

That statement opened the floodgates. Now, social media is going crazy over the similarities between President Obama and the actor playing the devil.

Some social media users voiced their opinions, saying, "Noticed the guy playing the role of Satan looks strikingly similar to Obama. Creepy."

Another said, "Oh my word...Does Satan look familiar to anyone else?"

Sunday night's episode of The Bible proved to be another juggernaut, drawing 10.9 million viewers, up an impressive 16% from last week.

Part three featured Daniel in the lion's den as well as the birth of Jesus, his baptism, and, of course, the temptation of Jesus by Satan.

The actor playing Satan is Moroccan-born Mehdi Ouazzani and without his makeup he looks nothing at all like the president.

In a statement, The Bible's executive producers, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, are dismissing the Obama-Satan comparison as "utter nonsense." Roma Downey called it a "foolish distraction," adding, "Both Mark and I have nothing but respect and love for our president, who is a fellow Christian."

The History Channel also dismissed the Obama-Satan resemblance, saying in a statement: “History Channel has the highest respect for President Obama. It's unfortunate that anyone made this false connection."

Ironically, just two weeks ago, Obama joked about how some Republicans were continuously demonizing him.

In a press conference, President Obama said, "Is there something I could do to make some of these guys, the house Republican caucus, not paint horns on my head?"

Have we heard the last of the Obama-Satan controversy? Stay tuned.
